Who can use the Adult Day Center?
The Adult Day Center offers a health and activity program to persons 40 years of age and older. The goal of the program is to assist individuals and their families with: physical needs, social interaction, and cognitive and emotional challenges. Some of the challenges of individuals who attend the program are Altzheimer's disease, Down Syndrome, Dementia, mental health challenges, and developmental disabilities as well as health concerns such as heart disease, diabetes, strokes, cancer and lung disease.
The Center helps individuals by:
Providing support for them and their families or caregivers.
Encouraging them to maintain their current abilities.
Providing a variety of games and activities as well as music to stimulate the memory.
Providing crafts projects according to each individual's level.
Offering the individual an opportunity to meet and make new friends.
Health Services available:
Registered nurse on site, monthly monitoring of blood pressure and weight, health education, social worker on site, one-on-one counseling, family counseling, foot care, chair exercises, nutritious lunch. Assessments are done on admission as necessary.
